On May 28–29, 2025, the historic Conservatorio di Musica “Santa Cecilia” in Rome hosted the official kick-off of EU-CODE (European Co-Creation in Diversity), a groundbreaking 30-month project co-funded by the European Union. This initiative redefines wind orchestras as dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable hubs of European cultural collaboration.
A Partnership for Musical Innovation
EU-CODE unites four European institutions with a shared vision:
🎶 Conservatorio di Musica “Santa Cecilia” (Italy) – Project coordinator
🎶 Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Hungary)
🎶 Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain)
🎶 ACe20 (Italy) – Leading sustainability in cultural events
Together, they will explore:
- Body percussion as an accessible musical form
- Gender equality & cultural diversity in music education
- New concert formats for deeper audience engagement
- Cross-border mobility for musicians
- Eco-friendly event management
Rome: Where Tradition Meets Innovation
The kick-off began with internal planning at Santa Cecilia Conservatory, followed by a high-profile session at the European Commission Representation in Italy, emphasizing the project’s EU-wide significance.
Sustainability at the Core
With ACe20 guiding its green strategy, EU-CODE will minimize environmental impact while maximizing cultural exchange—proving that great music and sustainability can go hand in hand.
